Testing for Hypothyroidism
Many patients will come and see me after being told that their labs are fine but they still feel exhausted, are having trouble losing weight, have dry skin etc. Often, we need to dig a little deeper and test more hormones or other areas that can impact thyroid function.
Testing we will run may include:
- TSH
- Free T4
- Free T3
- Thyroid antibodies: anti TG, anti TPO
- Cortisol: adrenal hormones influence thyroid function
- Nutrients: iron, vitamin B12, vitamin D, magnesium, zinc
- Inflammation
- Insulin resistance
